    Information

Founded in 2004 by Yeo Shih Yun, INSTINC is an artist-run institution based in Singapore. INSTINC has been an active player in the arts ecology through their exhibition programming and curation, as well as through community engagement through their workshops and artists’ talks. They continue to build upon regional and international ties through their long-running residency program. The vision for INSTINC is one of collaboration and connection, producing immersive large-scale projects that cross the genres of installation, new media, performance, painting and sculpture, partnering with brands such as Volvo and Guinness in the past.

    ABOUT INSTINCAIR PROGRAM

We are proud to be one of the pioneers of the artist-in-residence program in Singapore. INSTINCAIR program was started in 2009 by Singaporean artist Shih Yun Yeo. Since inception, our program has been created for artists who appreciate the importance of a conducive studio for artistic production and a very comfortable, convenient space for living. WHERE IS INSTINC LOCATED?

SOHO @ Central is the first landmark development in Singapore to integrate the diverse functions of live-work-play and travel within one complex. It is also the first to pioneer the combination of a work-live lifestyle within purpose-built SOHO units. The Central is located above the Clarke Quay MRT station within the Clarke Quay vicinity. It is close to the National Gallery, Singapore Art Museum, The Arts House and many more. Our space has a high ceiling of 4.5m and full-height glass windows with a view of Marina Bay Sands and the full 50meters lap pool. Each SOHO unit comes fitted out with its own kitchen, washing machine and dryer, shower and toilet facilities. There is a shared sky garden, a lap pool, an outdoor jacuzzi and gymnasium.

We have two ceiling mount Epson projectors as well as four Samsung 43” TV screens.
