Kunstverein Siegen

Kunstverein Siegen e.V. was founded in 1980 as a non-profit association for the promotion and mediation of contemporary art in Siegen. The Kunstverein sees it as its task to detect socially relevant topics in practice as well as in theory and to present young, current national, and international artistic positions to the general public. It thus offers a platform of cultural exchange where the public can participate in cultural processes and enter into a dialogue about contemporary art.

Public discussion formats with artists and experts, site-specific projects, performances, guided tours, art trips, films, lectures, and publications complement individual and thematic group exhibitions. During the Art Summer, Kunstverein Siegen presents an overview of the diverse art in the region.

The Kunstverein, which belongs to the AdKV (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine), is supported by the broad civic commitment of its approximately 400 members. The city of Siegen, the district of Siegen Wittgenstein, and the Sparkasse Siegen support the Kunstverein and thus make the exhibition and mediation work possible.
