For the group exhibition "Verhandlungsbasis" Luc Palmer and Jürgen Palmer invited artists from their respective environments and fields of interest. Some of them will be shown for the first time in Germany.
None theme was given; the curators put together works in which the power, fragility and absurdity of life are focused - through painting that does not care about boundaries and also conquers space, playful ceramics and sculptural material mix.
The rhythms of a large construction site are just as worthy of the picture as the loneliness of a female smoker. A crocodile tells the cycle of life and death, and perhaps Sigmund Freud was sitting on the armchair just a moment ago, which was pierced by a meteorite.
Due to cultural backgrounds, themes such as animalism or neo-Baroque death cult also appear.
In terms of content and form, there are similarities across the various countries of origin and age groups - the range extends from mid-twenties to sixty years and thus coincides (coincidentally?) with the working and experiential time of the two exhibition organizers, who enter into a constructive dialogue about the possibilities of art today in view of the exhibition.
